Mountain Lakes Church Acquisition

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Church Growth Net is proud to welcome the addition of mountainlakeschurch.org into our family. Mountain Lakes Church has been a beacon of spiritual hope for those wanting to turn to God, but unable to find their own personal path. The acquisition was official as of August 26, 2022.

The Mountain Lakes Church Approach

The mission of Mountain Lakes is simple: to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating environments that make it easy for people to turn to God. Their focus as a church is on the community in totality and the hard work to create a church that people will love to attend.

We at Church Growth Net could not agree more.

Far too often the church is marginalized in society, but we believe that as a church, we are stewards of the most important message in the history of humanity. And we want to be wise stewards. We want to create environments that are not just relevant and irresistible, but are people’s best option on Sunday morning. In sum, we want to increase church attendance through engagement.

We invite you to join the dream of leading our community into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Here is what Mountain Lakes Church has to say about that relationship:

About the Scriptures

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.

About God

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct beings: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.

About Mankind

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort. Our role is to provide church leadership through the Holy Spirit.

About Salvation

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs only when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

About Christian Life

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.

About the Church

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world, and avoid the practices that kill church growth.

We believe that life-change happens best in circles rather than rows — through authentic relationships in a small group rather than by looking at the back of someone’s head on Sunday morning. We call these community groups, a small group of people who are committed to grow closer to each other and to God.

In a small group, people study God’s Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It’s where they pray, care for one another, and are missed if they don’t show up.

This is the environment where we celebrate the successes of life, and where we comfort one another during the disappointing times. It is a place to be encouraged and equipped to live in the way of Jesus.

These groups not only help you apply what you’re hearing in the Sunday messages, but they instantly make a big church feel small.  Small groups are not a nice addition to our ministry, they are the heart of our ministry. That’s why we place such a high premium on group life. It helps us focus on the important areas of church growth.

Each community group decides when and where it wants to meet. Most groups meet in the homes of the members on a weekly basis. Each group commits initially for eight weeks. At the end of this time, the group can decide to continue as a community group and extend their commitment for up to 18 months, or they can begin the process again.

We’ve designed the experience so that guests like you can come sit in our services for a while and check everything out. However, when you’re ready to take the next step, we want to help you do that. If you really want to plug in, there are really only 4 things a fully invested member does:

  • connect in a small group
  • serve on a volunteer team
  • give to the mission
  • invite friends who aren’t here yet

The benefits are overwhelming for the individual. But collectively, when the church is filled with families joyfully living out these four things, nothing can stop our influence in this area. They’re four simple things that not only give the church momentum, but catapult your faith, too.

Amen!
